MAXZO Patient Transfer Chair

Six, eight, ten transfers a day. Bed to commode, commode to chair, chair back to bed. Each one is a dead lift at an awkward angle, usually in a doorway or beside a bath, and usually alone.

This chair takes the weight so you don't. You position it, they sit, your foot does the lifting, and you roll them where they need to be.

One chair, six jobs

Patient lift, indoor wheelchair, bedside commode, bathroom chair, dining table and armchair. It replaces the commode, the transfer board and the indoor wheelchair — which matters when a small flat has nowhere to store three separate things.

The commode bowl is included and slides out from under the seat. The tray table lifts off when it isn't wanted.

How a transfer works

1. Roll it in. The backrest splits and folds back a full 180°, so the chair comes to them rather than the other way round. The base clears a low bed frame, so you can bring it right up to the mattress edge.
2. They lean on the chest pad. They lean forward onto the padded chest support and hold the two grab handles. The chest and waist straps buckle around their back, so their weight is carried by the frame and not by their arms.
3. Pump the pedal. A few presses and the hydraulic ram raises the seat from 17 in up to 26 in — bed height to chair height. The release lever lowers them back down under control, as slowly as you like.
4. Release the brakes and go. Four lockable 360° swivel castors, plus a hand lever on the push bar for slowing it on a smooth floor.

It arrives part-assembled and bolts together with the spanners included. Most people take 30 to 45 minutes. Two pairs of hands makes it much easier, since the assembled chair is 80 lb.

Free worldwide shipping, dispatched within 1–3 business days with tracking. Delivery typically takes a further 7-14 days. Return it within 30 days if it doesn't suit — keep the original packaging until you're sure, as it's a bulky item and needs to travel back safely.

Please read before ordering

Measure your doorways. The chair is 26 inches wide and needs a 28-inch doorway or wider. Most modern interior doors are 28–32 in, but older houses and bathroom doors are often narrower. Measure your narrowest doorway and your bathroom turning space before you order — this is the most common reason one gets sent back.

The weight limit is not a guideline. 440 lb / 200 kg is the rated limit for the frame and the hydraulic ram. Going above it risks the lift failing while someone is in the chair.

It suits some situations and not others. The person needs to be able to sit upright unsupported for a minute or two, lean forward onto the chest pad, and hold the handles. If they are fully immobile, can't hold their head and trunk steady, or need lifting from floor level after a fall, you want a full-body sling hoist instead — not this.

Bathroom, not shower. It is designed to roll up to the toilet and sit beside a bath. It is not a wet-room shower chair: don't park it under running water or submerge it, and wipe the frame and seat dry afterwards.
